Are We Racist: I mean Indians

Hard fact but true. We are!! Manifesting itself in variegated forms it occurs predominantly at placeslike Hotels and Posh Restaurants- not to mention IT companies also. I have witnessed them myself and sometimes i wonder:

"Before pointing a finger at others, maybe we need to remember that four of the remaining five are pointing back at you."
I found curt &boorish treatment towards fellow Indians especcially in South India, when i headed for Trivandrum for my ILP in Tata Consultancy Services(TCS). I witnessed three seperate incidents in a span of a week or so.
DAY 1: The induction
I was allocated a room at a hotel called Aruvi in Trivandrum( Near Kendriya Vidhyalaya) and it was a run down hotel with mediocre service. I went to my office(My first day in Tcs) & made a couple of friends and was just chatting when i saw a group of my faculty behaving obsequiously around three guys of which two were Chinese and one was an Indian( NRI from Switzerland). When enquired about them, I came to know that they were foreign induction to India as a part of the exchange policy of the company. As the day passed by we were heading back to ur rooms : three in a room, single fan, no lights after 10 pm. On the way we saw the Foreign inducties being led to their Hotel: Ginger( fully air conditioned) and he was led by our Delivery Head himself. Can u believe this shit???? I mean

C'mon man gimme a break. Why are we being treated as secondary citizens in our own country. AHTITHI DEVO BHAVA- Treat guests as god- Is not applciable here. This aint the tourism department. They had a cab transport to office, Bislery water , a swimming & batminton court & wat not. We guys felt disgusted. Do we really deserve this treatment? if this is the case with our own country think about our treatment in Foreign countries. No wonder Indians are getting thrashed by everywhere.

Day 2: No room for Indians: Why don u Put a Banner!!!!
Me and a couple of my tcs mates were having our dinner @ a psoh restaurant as we were getting placed @ different locations. I got my transfer to Chennai. While i was having my food an Indian couple walks in and asks for an accomodation. With a scornful and premature attitude he added that rooms were full. Abt a few minutes or so i saw a foreign couple walk by- not sure about their origin, but surely foreigners-and on request for a room they were promptly given a nod and taken to their rooms. This is ridiculous. When we enquired with the branch manager, he replied with insolence that
"The differential treatment was coz the foreigners are better guests!!"
Is this what we deserve???Why the hell are people discriminating our own country men? Not one, not two but umpteen occurances where we are made to feel out of the place. why is the "White skin" being targetted for all these cream ads.It is racism as it's a generalisation based on colour of skin but it has a lot to do with the colour of your money. I guess the only refuge for us will be the Dharmshala's where disciples or adherents are allowed to stay for free or a minimal donation. The Gulf war of “Senior Bush” forced Indian Tourism industry to find domestic tourists. Since then domestic tourism has grown by lepas and bounds. The concepts and ethos are changing fast. Nova rich Indian consumer class has grown by leaps and bounds too, and has a western lifestyle. They eat pizza and use toilet paper…and hence are welcomed by the smart hotel owners any where, even in the west.If only the Obama administration can launch another offensive on the Gulf, without a Un resolution ,they will be doing a great-favour to Indian tourism industry in long run.The moral of the story is:
"if you want service with a smile bring American friend along. Athithi Devo Bhava"
.
Indian Premier League: No Black Cheerleader
The multicrore league featured a number of cheerleaders wearing skimmy dress so skimmy that i guess i handkerchief was more appropriate for the dree which they wore. We saw them chearin us when ever some event occurs(a boundary, six, wicket fall) and if you notice something there were no black cheerleaders.Infact there were black cheerleaders:Dancers Ellesha Newton and Sherinne Anderson. They were stopped by the pre-match show organisers ‘Wizcraft International Entertainment’ by apparent instructions by the boss before the opening match of the Kings X1 at Mohali.Reason:
"Because the Indian people don’t like to see dark people."

After all, the Indian affection of anything white is well documented in society and is almost a norm in the film industry. How many dark skinned leading actresses are there in this industry? The two cheerleaders reported that they were upset and cried and they could have understood it if at least the crowd was not receptive to them. The crowd was receptive to them but the highly educated, affluent public star bosses had other ideas in implementing their age old formula for bollywood success.
At the end of the day, it took a big public figure filled with snooty bigotry to bring the house down. So where are all those millions and billions of Indians here and across the world. After all when Shilpa Shetty from the same bollywood industry was racially abused by from unknown small time actor in the UK, the whole community across the world rallied for her.So where are those rallies for these Uk girls? Where those taxi drivers with their stickers to support? Where are those websites harping on voting for Shilpa to kill racism? Oh I get it they are BLACK right? And we dont like black people. Ya right.
Had John Dalton beeb alive, his theory of Color Blindness would have been contradicted. I would have argued with him:
"Yo John!People aint color blind homie. They see all colors and live with them. They an clearly identify them and treat them according to their color".

A cloud With Silverlining:
A small ray of hope arises after the unanimous victory of Barack Obama as the first African- American president of the U.S of A. I pray to god that he should make humans color blind and give the color genes to the animals for atleast they are much more Humane than Humans.
