Aw Gimme a break man!!!!why the hell is google being targetted here afterall, its just a search engine.I guess China needs to be educated in understanding what a search engine means.To Hell with Beijing. Stupid governments like these are nothing about hindrances in a countries progress.Why the hell is a search engine being blocked , which carry links to other sites, but does not itself carry information.??. Even the Chinese Internet user's- the end User's- they have come up & spoken out AGAINST the ban.Beijing routinely blocks access to sites run by the banned spiritual movement Falun Gong, human rights groups and some foreign news organisations like the BBC.

Search Engines are the most, I emphasize THE MOST frquented websites on the net & Chinese is the language version most widely used.The New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) and the Paris-based Reporters Sans Frontières (RSF) both called on Beijing to lift the ban.China does know how to make people laught @ them by giving out these anecdotes not only in the past,but also in the future. The weirdest thing is even though google was banned, also it's affiliated products- Gmail, Google Earth,Google Reader & also Youtube(Gimme a break)- were asloe banned. What was going through China's mind or to be precise Communist Govt?With the copycat government system we have we can next anticipate a similar incident to occur in Muaritian island or who knows even in My counrty(INDIA). This banning is totally Immoral . Its a disgrace to the Fourth Front. And not to mention that China has the largest number of HACKERS reported worldwide, you think passing the RED INTRERNET FIREWALL is gonna be tough? Rumours are arising in the internet that the ban was provoked by YAHOO sighning the AGREEMENT TO SENSOR. The Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard Law School is conducting a study of Internet filtering in countries worldwide. As part of this study, they have put up a web page where you can get a Real-time report on whether any URL you submit is blocked by the Great Firewall. Check whether you'd be able to read your favorite web sites in Beijing!. Also there are some hotels( Westerns) which have non blocked connection. I was jus wondering if ny of the Chinese could highlight us & give us a look of how it feels to be Handcuffed!!!. Feeling Claustrophobic Google China has agreed to cut overseas pornography from its search engine in China, google.cn. A Google press officer was reportedly found Quoting in an email to Golbal Times and I Quote:

"We will continue to meet with the government to address their concerns, and we
wish to communicate directly with them in regard to our services and progress in
addressing this problem," Cui Jin, a press officer at Google China, told the
Global Times via e-mail yesterday."
