Indian Poltics: Dynasty Politics
I thought that India became a Democratic nation in 1947 and shred its wings of Monarchy after we were enslaved by the British. But the traits of Dynasticism still lingers in our economy.I would like to enlighten you on the top three political parties in India that exhibit this trait eventhough, they claim that people chose them and they represent the common man: LOL.
My top three parties to make it successfully as my blog entries are as follows:
1)The Congress
2)The Ncp: nationalist Congressparty
3)DMK:Dravida Munnetra kazhakam.
I The Congress:The perfect Soap Opera
In my early years of schooling, I came across many chapters which portrayed the legacy of the Nehru family. I remember reading about our first Prime minister Shri. Jawaharlal Nehru, who used to be closely associated with kids and was called Chacha(in Hindi) and used to get chocolates on Nov 14th celebrated as Children's day in India. Then when moved higher up the ladder of education i was exposed to the Nehru family and learned about their lineage. Then i read somewhere that Indira Gandhi ( daughter of Shri.Nehru) was crowned as the first Lady Prime minsiter of our country. Damn!!!you gotta admit that she had guts to launch the millitary offensive Operation Blue Star in order to remove the Sikh frondeur from accumulation of Weapons in the Golden temple Amritsar. This event made its way to the Time magazines: Top 10 Political DisgracesOfficial reports put the number of deaths among the Indian army
at 83 and the number of civilian deaths at 492, though independent estimates ran much higher.Revenge for the desecration of the Sikh shrine was pledged by some in the Sikh community and Indira Gandhi was assassinated by 2 of her Sikh bodyguards on 31 October 1984.
Then came an energetic and ebbulient Rajiv Gandhi, who was the youngest prime minsiter of the country and promised reforms in all aspects which would make India a superpower. But he made a grave mistake of messing with the LTTE( Liberation Tigers of Tamil EElam). He was given a premonition by them on his visit to Sri Lamka, when a sodier( a Ltte supporter) tried to melee attack him with his rifle. Then later On 21st may 2009 at a rally in Sriperambathur, the Ltte blew his body into smithereens. Then followed an era where the Bjp was getting the stronghold of the Indian Democracy. but after the failure of the I K Gujral government its seemed as if Bjp is unlikely to come to power due to its retaliation gestures to its own allies. Finally in 2004 Congress came back to power and we had the most weakest Prime minsiter the country has ever seen: Shri Manmohan Singh- a man who was regarded as the pillar of the indian Finance especially during the nineties where India was battling its own Fiscal constraictions. He danced to the tunes set up by the Congress leader Mrs. Sonia Gandhi: Wife of deseased Rajiv Gandhi. She made a surprise come back to politics. How the hell an Italian Citizen was allowed to ruke India?
Latest entry into the field was Rahul Gandhi( currently a minsiter in cabinet), who is the next highly probable candidate for the Congress. A fourth generation Nehru-Gandhi, the family which has given India three Prime Ministers, has taken a deep plunge in the hurly burly of electoral politics.
So lemme get this straight.I guess no matter how what happens the Nehru family wont let anyone rule India but their Heirs. My grandfather voted for Jawahar Lal Nehru. My uncles voted for his daughter Indira Gandhi. My parents cast their vote in favour of Rajiv Gandhi, her eldest son. And now, many of my generation are pledging allegiance to Rahul Gandhi, son of Rajiv, grandson of Indira and great-grandson of Nehru.Gimme a break Dude!!!!!
II Ncp: We hate Dynasty politics...Err we love them
This party is most famous for its political summersaults and believe me really deserve a gold medal. This party headed by Shri. Sharad pawar has been established as a political go getter during the last 10 years and have established themselves as a force in Maharashtra. He openly told in interview that he never supports Dynasty politics and its not followed in his party. With a talented daughter now firmly ensconced as the MP from the pocket borough of Baramati, with an ambitious nephew who runs his own parallel empire in Pune, Pawar has slowly established his family raj in the state.Cmon guys don you have shame? You contradict your own policies. Guess you need to be Buffalo skinned to face the camera and act as if nothing has happened.A brilliant article done by Cyrus Broacha in the Ibn show: The week that wasn't.Kindly watch this show to know whats happening in the world of politics explained to you in the most humerous way one can.Hats off to that show to enligten people on these blood sucking leeches who are not even fit to be a part of the Democracy.
III DMK: I want my Son, Daughter to be a part of the Cabinet. Oops i forgot about Stalin"Seven stakes in the newly formed government. Nothing more nothin less"
Those were the words that was emitted from Dmk supremo Karunanidhi who had a discussion with Pranab Mukhrjee at a meeting which remained inconclusive. Karunanidhi's son Azhagiri, Maran, Kanimozhi and A Raja are said to be in the reckoning for cabinet berths while new entrant T K S Elangovan could be given a Minister of State slot. With Congress's no-compromise attitude towards infrastructure persisting, it was clear that either DMK would now have to come round to Congress's terms or stay out of the government. With Congress's no-compromise attitude towards infrastructure persisting, it was clear that either DMK would now have to come round to Congress's terms or stay out of the government. The stability of Dr Manmohan Singh's government depends on the support of the DMK. By the way, the DMK has not been declared as a terrorist organisation by any official agency. Finally the finalists came for Dmk which, was more or less acceptable by Dmk except that T.R.baalu was dropped from cabinet: A verygood move by congress. Not satisfied Dmk retorted back: "If Pawar with fewer seats could retain his old portfolios, then the Dravidian party was entitled to similar treatment."
Newer setbacks were emerging for Karunanidhi when his son Stalin ignited a perfect Sibling Rivalry situation where he demanded a place in the State government and was given one. The moral of the story is if your dad is a politician you will be a future politician,if your dad is a movie star, you too will be one. Come on for christ sake stop this dynasty ruling principle. Give chance to the ones who really deserve it. Citizens should decide whom to vote and whom not to. Please dont vote for money nad dont accept monetary benefits. Remember your future generation depends on your decisions. Atleast let them have a peaceful life. Please don let the country stagnate in this machiavellian form of democracy. JaaGo India jaaGo!!!!!!!!!!!1
